#NationalPoetryMonth – Day 28

words flow off
my tongue with you
chats deep into the night
blossom without
care or concern
tiny truths are
easily shared
laughter pools
at our feet
soaks our toes
kisses our ankles
while underneath and
above and all around
is the palpable
thrum of desire
for art and prose
and each other
kiss me now
leave me free
learn me forever

April is National Poetry Month and to celebrate – inspired by that badass word warrior Jason Reynolds and my writing promptress Jena Schwartz – I’m going to post a poem every day. These pieces won’t be perfect, they never are, but they’ll be here, every day of April. I hope you stop by and enjoy the words and maybe even feel moved to share some of your own.

  1. A beautiful poem… I love the enumerative effect here, it seems to give the poem a fastest-growing an yet `smooth´ rhythm… All my best wishes. Aquileana 🌟
