The word “serendipity” got stuck in my brain today and I wound up writing a poem using it as a prompt and holy shit, it’s kind of good. Like I kind of love it.

A friend sent an email last week, letting a group of us know she’s checking out for a bit, taking some much-needed time for herself and her health. I applaud the courage it took to make that statement to all of us and think of her often. I hope she’s all right and feeling a little better every day. I also hope she knows I love her. Madly.

Did you catch this week’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy? Holy shit. Shonda can still bring it when she decides to really wreck you and she sure as hell decided to do so last night. Also, I don’t care what you say – I love Meredith. LOVE her.

I did something for myself this week, something I’ve known I needed to do for a while, but wasn’t ready. And I’m still not sure I’m ready, but I did it anyway – severed ties with someone – and it fucking kills. But also, it doesn’t. I’m still here and still breathing and still laughing. And I don’t know where they are or what they’re doing or whether they even care about my absence – something tells me they don’t and will replace me easily – and that’s okay. It’s life. One day I’ll put it all down on paper, writing a dark and twisted maybe-love story, but today I just want to pretend they never existed.

Jake and Scandal. GAH. I’m sorry, but I’m going to say it: I only watch that show for Jake. Seven words I never expected to type: Scott Foley is all kinds of sexy.
